Korus System

The KORUS System was created with the aim of providing the surgeon with comprehensive and reliable solutions for an increasingly personalized surgical procedure.

The system comprises:

  • UNCEMENTED KORUS, in two models with 135° and 125° CCD angles, available with or without collar;
  • CEMENTED KORUS also available with DISTAL CENTRALIZER;
  • KORUS TITAN;
  • KORUS MODULAR, equipped with 14 interchangeable necks.

UNCEMENTED KORUS

  • Neck with 135° and 125° CCD angles, mirror finish and refined geometry to increase ROM and decrease the risk of impingement;
  • Vertical and horizontal grooves: increase the contact surface and ensure axial and rotational stability;
  • Stepped geometry: promotes a better grip, exerts an anti-varus action and provides a support surface for unloading the axial components of the forces;
  • The low profile of the lateral shoulder allows for easy insertion and reduced incision;
  • Design with or without collar;
  • 12/14 standard morse taper with 5°42’30’ angle;
  • Materials:
    • TI6Al4V titanium alloy with OSPROVIT 100 ± 20µm HA coating.

UNCEMENTED KORUS WITH COLLAR

  • Neck with 135° and 125° CCD angle, mirror finish and refined geometry to increase ROM and decrease the risk of impingement;
  • The collar increases rotational stability and provides additional axial support;
  • The collar size increases with increasing stem size;
  • Stepped geometry: promotes a better grip, exerts an anti-varus action and provides a support surface for unloading the axial components of the forces;
  • 12/14 standard morse taper with 5°42’30’ angle;
  • Materials:
    • TI6Al4V titanium alloy with OSPROVIT HA coating.

CEMENTED KORUS

  • Neck with 135° and 125° CCD angle, mirror finish and refined geometry to increase ROM and decrease the risk of impingement;
  • Available with or without centralizer;
  • Refined distal end to facilitate stem insertion and reduce stresses acting on the cement mantle;
  • Diaphyseal wedge shape: guarantees excellent rotational stability and facilitates the insertion of the stem, thus reducing the stresses acting on the cement mantle;
  • 12/14 standard morse taper with 5°42’30’ angle;
  • Materials: High-nitrogen stainless steel
  • Finish: mirror finish.

KORUS TITAN

  • Proximal trapezoidal section: resists axial and torsional stress and facilitates osseointegration;
  • Square distal section: provides rotational stability without contact with the cortex;
  • Materials:
    • Proximal coating: Titanium Y 367 APS (Plasma Spray);
    • Distal section glass bead.

KORUS MODULARE

  • 14 interchangeable necks to meet the individual needs of the patient;
  • Two lengths of modular necks;
  • Standard version, varus-valgus 8° or 15°, anteverse/retroverse 8°or 14 and four combined models;
  • Reduced neck geometry;
  • Materials
    • Ti6Al4V titanium alloy with OSPROVIT HA coating;
    • Necks in Cobalt Chrome Alloy.
