FOCUS ON : TiNbN Coating for allergy and wear protection

12 July 2021

WEAR RESISTANCE

Reduction in wear of almost 40% of the rate wear of uncoated implants

REDUCTION OF ALLERGY POTENTIAL

The amount of cobalt ions released by the TiNbN coating is drastically reduced, which plays a considerable role in reducing the risk of allergy

TiNbN COATING + UNCEMENTED COATING

TiNbN coating is available also with uncemented coating in K-MOD primary knee prosthesis system

HIGH COATING HARDNESS

The TiNbN coating is characterized by a high coating hardness of approx. 2000 HV. In comparison, conventional CoCrMo alloys only have a hardness of around 550 HV.

ROUGHNESS

The values of roughness determined for the TiNbN coating are < 0.05 μm
